Flames of Darkness - Chapter II - V

No breeze, little light, no food… everything was lacking in that abyss, but Wolf ran on. The blue flame was really close to him now, and he could almost see it dancing wildly in the darkness.

Wolf was really lethargic, but he pressed on and it paid off. As he got closer, he realized that 2 flames were there – a new one, and the other was likely to be the one he missed his chance on.

He still had the problem though – how was he to capture it? Going bare handed was pure stupidity, but he couldn’t think for too long. The flames were ready for attack.

In a split second, both the flames went on the offensive, with Wolf attempting to dodge the two fireballs headed for him. There was no way to capture them yet, and Wolf was close to losing all his stamina.

It was too late, though. Wolf was too distracted to notice the two fireballs, headed straight ahead for him. Both fireballs split to two and once more, both flames managed to scrape past him – one on the exact spot he was burned previously, the other on his other arm. The pain was just unbearable, and Wolf screamed in agony. He slammed to the ground, hard. Scratches were on him everywhere by now, but he could not do anything… at all.

He glanced at the 2 fireballs. Strangely enough, the just sat there, and didn’t jump off as per his previous experience. Wolf knew that it didn’t bode well, though. Something was waiting to happen, he knew it.

Wolf began inspecting his injury. The flames were very docile, strangely. Only some sparks came out every now and then, but that was all. Wolf saw his first wound, but it looked like nothing happened, other than the fact that the black area around it became larger. The other wound – his new burn – had the exact same mark as the first injury.

Wolf looked closely at both injuries. Something wasn’t right. The marks were transiting to a deep red color, as if the flames came alive. Just then, the most unexpected thing happened.

With a sudden crackle of the flames, the mark became hot red. One could see the red glow from far in the darkness. Wolf could also feel a burning sensation setting in, and it was getting very intense. In a split second, the burn became as bad as when the fireballs touched Wolf. He could literally see the flame mark on his hand moving, and it was moving out of the black area. That was not good news…

The flame mark touched the edge of the black area. Then, it advanced further, moving straight across his arm and onto his body. He could feel the burn so bad, he tumbled to the ground and kept rolling around in pain. It was agonizing. The mark proceeded across and connected with the other burn mark, forming a black burn line on his skin, as if it was “joining the dots.”

Wolf was gasping in pain by now, and it was the worst feeling he ever felt. The pain slowly subsided, with both marks now gone. All that was left was a deep, black burn line across his body.

Wolf could barely open his eyes, but he could see the flames growing larger, but in an eccentric pattern. It rose and joined together, as if forming a pair of legs. The “legs” then walked slowly into the darkness, leaving Wolf weak on the ground. Wolf was unsure how things boiled down to this, and he was beginning to feel the hopelessness that his “clone” mentioned before.

One more, the orange flames reduced in amounts. They were now a very large distance apart, though the path could barely be made out.

Wolf just decided to lay there and not move for some time. If this continued, he would definitely die. It was all just a matter of time… After all, things were hopeless now, right?

Early Morning Rise & Shine

I hardly wake up at 8am. If I do, it's because I'm going to play some games. But that's not what I'm gonna have to do for today. There's just too many things lined up for me that I can't sleep further than how much I've slept...

I really hope when I book out the next time on coming Friday that I am really given at least 40 hours to communicate with my family, rest, and relax. There just wasn't enough time to get much done this weekend... getting swamped with other work and all. Sigh.

Well, last post for me in this blog for now until I return! My cough still isn't recovered, but trying my best to keep it controlled. I don't want to catch a ride to see the medical officer again >.>

Time to go! Hopefully this week won't be too tough for me to handle!

I Spam the Blog!

Wow, loads of things added for the day! Updated a log, which is very, very far from finishing, and a new chapter of the ongoing story.

At the same time, I'm very grateful and happy to be back on local land, as it's brought me quite some experience that I don't think I can easily forget. More importantly, I'm ready to face up for some challenges ahead. With all the emotions welled inside me, 2 songs come to mind that fit this situation.

Song: Let It Out
Artist: Miho Fukuhara
Anime: Full Metal Alchemist

Along with that, all challenges ahead and in my way will be taken with one attitude:

Song: Golden Time Lover
Artist: Sukima Switch
Anime: Full Metal Alchemist

Sunday has fallen. It's almost time to book in again... sigh. Too short a time accompanying my family really. This is going to continue for some time....

FoD - Writer's Notes VI

With my army life in the way, it gets difficult for me to add in a new chapter part for Flames of Darkness, but I'll do my best.

It was fun to get Chapter II - IV done though, because I had no headway to what could happen to Wolf in the upcoming chapters. More thinking for me to do! However, I do have some plans of sorts on what could happen... just have to wait and see ;)

The story till now all represents something interesting. Although it's a little slow, you'll notice that there will be an uncanny resemblance to how my life has been mixed into Wolf's adventure.

Many questions remain for me to get done with, but it's not going to be easy to answer all of them.

Hopefully, every week, I get to do up at least a chapter of this! It's been fun to write this, and I don't wish to give it up anytime sooner.

Flames of Darkness - Chapter II - IV

The abyss looked endless as Wolf proceeded onwards. With flames which were originally leading his path vanishing to thin air behind him, he couldn't wait to find the first blue flame, not knowing what was about to come up.

And there it was, the first blue flame since he started walking hours back. It looked like the flame was just waiting there to be collected, but Wolf knew it was not the case.

As Wolf approached the flame, he could feel the heat intensifying, emitting from the blue flame. What was strange though, was that he couldn't feel such heat coming from the orange ones, no matter how close they were to him.

With a sudden movement, the blue flame flew towards Wolf like a magnet, coming alive. Wolf was caught stunned in action. He dodged it right on time, but a portion of the flame split and scraped right past his arm. His arm was singed in the process, and it hurt so badly he couldn't land himself properly, trying to use the other arm to support the singed area and control the pain.

Wolf crashed to the ground. As the pain slowly faded away, he checked his wound, and realized that only a strange mark was left from the remnants of the flame. It looked like a fire emblem, blazing wildly. Surrounding it was a black area, but when Wolf touched it, he couldn't feel any pain from it. Other than the mark, it seemed like nothing was actually wrong.

He turned to look at the blue flame, which could be seen flying off further into the distance. One chance of catching the flame gone, but he believed more tries would come. He still didn't know how to catch them, though, considering how hot the blue flame was that a single touch was all it took to leave anyone who contacted it a severe burn.

As he looked ahead, he noticed that the pattern of orange flames leading the way were changing. Some flickered and in a short while, faded away. Far into the distance, he could see the same thing occurring.

Although he was not too cautious of such an event happening, he knew that things would not be as simple as it seemed. While the orange flames were still sufficient to lead the way, Wolf just felt an ominous feeling of what would happen next.

He could, however, see a small blue dot flickering amidst the complete darkness, less the orange flames, and it definitely wasn't too far from where he was at.

Not wanting to waste another moment, he sprinted his way towards the direction of the flame. As always, the orange flames leading the way faded off as he passed by them...

Back With a Tan!

And I'm back from 2 weeks of madness! 15 weeks to go, but I believe I'll persevere through it all.

My originally (very) fair skin is now chocolate brown o_o. I look... strange. Sort of, with two different color tones on my body. My tanned areas look awesome, though! :P

These 2 weeks had all the ups and downs in life I ever thought would happen. Because of that, I also made myself do some extreme things, but I manage to go through it all.

Through times of suffering, and times of happiness, I'm back from the army... for now.

What will come next? Time will tell all.

But first, major spam to the blog! ^_^

Gone... For Now.

Just a song I thought would be apt. Japanese, as always. I can never give up Japanese songs ;).

Title: Sayonara Solitaire
Artist: Saeko Chiba
Anime: Chrno Crusade

I'll be back in 2 weeks... definitely.

Abyss Flame

In a few hours, possibly some radical changes to my life could occur. Who knows?

I figured I should change my blog name too. It's now Abyss Flame - アビス炎. Something that I felt... fit, really.

Anyone who had the time to read all of Flames of Darkness would realize that the abyss is something that seems to hint at something... else.

In the midst of the abyss, will I be able to find the flame to illuminate the way?

Time will tell all.

Walking Down the Path of No Return

Ah. Sounds so ominous, yet it could be true in a sense.

A'Level results out today, and it definitely wasn't what I expected. While I thought I would have failed in a certain subject, I surprisingly passed it, with a decent grade, too.

However, this presented a problem to me. I actually didn't plan for this to happen. Which meant I didn't plan for what I should choose for my next course of life in University. Which is bad, since I forgot about "alternative planning."

Fortunately I have a few weeks to ponder carefully and decide on the best course of action. But that's inside my army, which is... less than a day away.

I don't know, sometimes I wished I planned further. Sometimes, I feel like there wasn't such needs to plan because I wasn't sure if I would be around at that point of time.

Tomorrow is where a new "life" of mine begins. It'll be interesting, torturous, worrying, scary, and all sorts of things mixed into one, but I look forward to it.

2 weeks of inactivity on my blog isn't going to stop me from "posting" ;). Wait till a flood of things appear when I return!

FoD - Writer's Notes V

Well, I did initially think of having just one part to Chapter II, before heading into my NS and writing up the rest of it when I come out every week, but it seems as though my creative juices just kept flowing and I couldn't place it all in one go! :P

However, this second chapter does mean a lot to me. I believe it will, at the least. Especially with Chapter II - III where Wolf's copy said "start of suffering... and despair," as it is something that I have a feeling could happen to me personally.

Now that I've started Chapter II, I'm pretty pumped to get on with it! But I'll keep my creative juices until the time I return...

So many posts to make in a day. I wonder if anyone actually reads all these? :P

Flames of Darkness - Chapter II - III

"Get up!" Wolf could feel a kick right onto his abdomen.

"Ugh! Dammit! What do you think you're doing?" Wolf was fully awake by now, and he was definitely not in a good mood.

As Wolf stood up, his surroundings were black. Almost nothing could be seen, except for the figure in front of him, who was carrying a torch.

"Where am I? What do you want this time?" Wolf was ready to punch the figure at anytime.

"Oh, want to punch me? Go ahead. I won't retaliate! No worries though, nothing's going to happen..." The figure just stood there, as if waiting to receive the blow.

"Oh hell I will punch you. And I will do that RIGHT NOW!" Wolf delivered as forceful a blow as he could onto the figure.

Right before the impact reached Wolf's copy, it smiled. When the punch landed on it, the figure burst into flames and it could be seen that all of them were sent flying off into the distance as it faded into the darkness.

"Ah..hahahaha! You shouldn't have punched me. Now this is where the fun starts! I'd advise that you collect any blue flames you see along the way, if you can!" The voice faded into the air. All around Wolf, the surrounding was brightened up by bright orange flames. It was definitely clearer to see where he could go now, as the flames seemed to form a path for him. However, the area was still pitch black, and he was unclear as to where he was.

"If you are wondering, this is... an abyss. Created purely for you actually. There is no way to get out, not unless you manage to find me. But hey, more importantly, you should think of how you're going to collect the blue flames. I'm not going to help you on that. Do prepare though, for this could very well be the start of your suffering... and despair." Once again, the voice faded away.

"Guess I should start work then." Wolf proceeded towards the path that the orange flames had created, he knew that this was just the beginning of something that would be very, very, long drawn. Wolf's figure faded into the darkness as he walked further and further away from where he started...

Flames of Darkness - Chapter II - II

"Darn... not again!" Wolf spoke as he stood up, sweeping the dirt off his legs.

"Again? You must have survived the first ordeal then. Or was there more than that?" It spoke.

"Just one... but I already had enough. It was dumb to have had to battle my--" Wolf was done cleaning up, and he looked right up into the figure. He paused at the instant he saw face-to-face, the person he was speaking to.

"My-- self." The person ended the sentence for Wolf.

"This is not necessary, but why are you... me? And, why do you look so strange?" Wolf pointed at the strange markings all over the figure.

"You should already know the answer." The figure spoke in a very firm voice. Sure enough, it was one of the other souls of Wolf that was ripped off from him. Wolf wasn't taken aback this time, especially with all the information he had from the previous one he fought.

However, the figure had black marks all over his body, like a tattoo. Wolf definitely didn't have that, so it definitely wasn't copied straight from him.

"Oh, these?" It pointed at the mark.

"Yeah. What's up with covering you with these marks anyway?" Wolf frowned at the sight of seeing "himself" get "drawn" to this extent.

"It's for... this." The figure ended his sentence. The marks on it's body started moving into the ground, and it was moving towards Wolf.

"'Tis some kind of joke?" Wolf didn't know what was going to happen. The black markings moved towards him with such speed that it caught him by surprise. In an instant, the black markings surrounded him. Wolf tried to move away, but his body seemed like it was rooted to the ground.

The black markings started to move up Wolf's body, as if taking over him. Wolf panicked, but there was nothing he could do. He could only stare in shock as the markings slowly covered his face. It started to spread out, like ink on water. His whole body could be seen slowly covered in black. Slowly... slowly...

Wolf raised his hand, as if wanting to grab his copy, but it was all too late. His arms were fully covered by the mark, and he was like a figure in the shadows -- completely black.

As the marks slowly covered his whole face, he could see that the figure smiled, and it was moving towards him. Wolf could feel that he was losing consciousness, and he knelt to the ground. His body then slammed right down, but he could not feel any pain. His eyes shut, not knowing what was going to happen.

Wolf's copy walked towards him, and he was sure that Wolf was completely knocked out. He muttered something, and in an instant, he broke down into a pool of black ink, and merged with the black marks which were still on Wolf.

"Time to begin this" were the last words that could be heard as the black marks started seeping into Wolf's body. After a short while, completely no black marks could be seen on him, and all that was left was his body which was bathing in the sunset light...

Flames of Darkness - Chapter II - I

Wolf sat up, dazed a little from the experience he had. He was feeling better from the rest, that's for sure, but he still couldn't understand too much of what the figure really meant.

Being able to live again was good, that's for sure, but why go to the trouble of doing so many little tricks, and worse, on him? He just couldn't understand that.

The surroundings was still dark and cold, much like when he started the battle. The area was barren, thanks to the battle. Wolf took a look up to the night sky, and once again, he saw the lake's surface. Strangely enough, it looked as if it was the exact same spot he drowned, although he was very sure he moved a rather long distance away from it.

He couldn't be too bothered by it though, it was, after all, one of the many strange things that hit him over the past few weeks. As Wolf began inspecting his wounds, he noticed that things looked really strange. Too strange to be true.

No wounds could be seen inflicted on his body. Wolf could recall the slashes that occurred during the battle, but the wounds were not there either. He was not feeling any pain at all, as if no bones in his body broke. How did that happen?

What was obvious, though, was that he was drenched. A storm that occurred while he was unconscious must have been pretty long for this to occur, he thought to himself.

Wolf stood on his two feet, glancing around the surroundings, trying to figure where to go next. The barren area stretched so far that he lost track of all sense of direction, unable to tell where he came from before that.

He could however, feel that he was being pulled towards a strange force. He moved towards it, knowing that something lay ahead of him, which he definitely had to discover himself.

As he proceeded forward, he had an uncanny feeling something bad was going to happen again. After all, he already experienced a rather rough ride for a start, what could be worse?

Wolf went smack right into a strange wall. It wasn't rock solid, though. It felt as if he hit into a bubble surface. He realized that walking right through it wasn't going to be as easy as he thought. He tried to recall how he even got into the bubble in the first place, and one idea struck his mind.

After taking several steps back, Wolf began to dash straight forward towards the surface. He was sure this was going to work, just like how it did when he went chasing the figure, only that he never noticed at that time. As his speed continued to increase, he hoped that it was going to be a relatively smooth exit...

Unfortunately, it was not quite what he expected. Instead of being able to exit it like passing through air, he smashed into in once again. That was definitely more painful than the first...

He tried one more time. This time, he made sure that his claws were ready to slice through the bubble, should it be necessary. Why was it so hard to get out of it this time, anyway? He thought no further about it, and began dashing towards the "wall" again.

With his razor sharp claws on the ready, he pounced at the wall as a last attempt. He slashed at the bubble this time, and sure enough, a small hole was made. He squeezed himself through the hole, and it was obvious that he was struggling to get his whole body out of it.

He did manage to get out, but not before doing a barrel roll on the ground, and ending with smashing into the legs of someone... again.

A Day... or Two

Two days to the start of my military service.

One day to the nationwide release of the A'level results.

Should one be tensed, worried, or looking forward to any of the events? Is it all just going to blow off in a matter of seconds, or will it last... for a lifetime?

Things are not necessarily how they look. Not when there are certain... things, that block your way in your quest-- quest of life.

When such things arise, what should you do? Should you escape in fear, or should you stand strong and face it?

Is everything that easy to face, when you have certain inherent worries that you were never able to speak out of? What if they were spoken of, but were always dismissed as being a ramble, or that they were "unnecessary"?

In 48 hours, or actually much less than that, things may change very, very radically... to a point I may not be able to accept it. Time will tell all. We'll have to see just what happens.

Will I fall into the abyss, or will I stand solid on ground, ready to face what is right in front of me... for 2 years?

Blog Update!

Yup! Anyone who visits my blog now won't be greeted with dull black. It's been fully customized to my liking of various colors! Hurrah!

Hopefully, it makes things easier to see with these new colors. I may update them further in future if I see the need to ;)

FoD - Writer's Notes IV

Yeah, with a nice spurt of energy, I wrote the other few chapter-parts in 2 hours or so.

It's nice to see this chapter end though, I've sort of struggled with how I should start, and end this chapter of mine.

Now we know that this "he" we're referring to, is Wolf. But why does he hate the name so much? You'll just have to wait and see.

I always wanted to make Wolf have a relatively opposite personality of mine. I wonder if anyone actually noticed what sort of character he has by now?

As the story expands, so will the number of questions increase. Answers may be given, depending on whether or not I know what questions I actually created :P.

Well, apart from that, Chapter 2 is actually on it's way! Very, very soon... and I mean very.

Flames of Darkness - Chapter I - VIII

Dark clouds gathered around the castle. It seemed like it was going to be yet another stormy night.

A mysterious figure was looking at several hourglasses that he had. The sand within just seemed to continue to flow endlessly, as if there was no end to the supply of sand. Neither did the pile of sand at the bottom of the hourglass increase.

Just then, the sand in one of the hourglasses started to run out. It was as if this was the only normal hourglass that he had.

When the sand ran out, nothing initially happened. However, after a short pause, it burst into pieces, scattering sand all over the area. Pieces of glass lay around where the mysterious figure stood.

"Master?" A lady's voice spoke.

"Oh, yes please. Thank you!" The figure smiled at the lady. She cleaned up the glass and the scattered sand. The figure was still staring intently at the other hourglasses, as if waiting for things to happen.

Once the lady was done, she walked slowly out the door and shut it behind her. The figure then walked over to his couch and sat down.

"So... that's one done. Doubt it was easy, but that's how it's meant to be, hm?" The figure spoke with a straight face. He seemed to know many things that a particular someone would like to know...

"Well, I wonder how he's going to fare for the others? Hopefully the next one won't give him that much trouble..."

Roaring thunder could be heard. Not long after, raindrops fell.

"It's going to be a stormy night..." The figure murmured as he stood up from his couch and went to his bedroom...

-Chapter 1 END-

Flames of Darkness - Chapter I - VII

It seemed like everything was too late. Nothing could be rectified from the battle.

Wolf's battered body was just left there, and the figure stood beside him.

"Tch. You're really.... useless, ya'know? I can't believe I could have defeated you! That's just stupid! But hey, it ends in my victory in the end! Ahahaha! Enjoy slowly decaying into the earth, Wolf." The figure turned around, and slowly walked away from his body.

Wolf's claws twitched. The figure never knew about it, though. Besides, struggling to be alive wouldn't help much in doing anything, would it?

Wolf was sprawled on the ground. He was badly beaten, anyone could see that. Panting and bleeding, he struggled to keep himself awake.

"Th--.... ye---...." Wolf said in a very soft tone.

The figure turned around, and saw that he was still alive. He walked towards Wolf.

"What did you just say? It's too soft, I couldn't hear you, weakling!"

"Thi-- thi--... is---" Wolf could only say it in bits and pieces.

"What?" The figure bent down, trying to hear what he said.

"THIS ISN'T OVER YET!" With a quick shout, Wolf took the earth that was on his claws and threw it right onto the figure's face.

The figure got a short stun, still recovering from the shock. Wolf took the opportunity to get all his energy ready to slash the figure. The figure was also attempting to be one with the wind again.

"Not... this... time!" Using all his energy, he pounced onto the figure and clawed right through his torso. The figure gave a sharp cry and fell to the ground.

Following that, Wolf continued to slash all over the figure, taking revenge from what happened earlier. But he didn't have that much energy. He collapsed right beside the figure, completely drained of all his stamina.

"Not.. bad...." The figure muttered.

"Time for you to tell me everything you know." Wolf panted.

"Not much, really... Your soul was... literally... ripped to shreds when you drowned... I don't know... why..." The figure was bleeding badly, and could hardly continue.

"I do know... however... that we were created... from these souls of yours... Our purpose is... unknown... but we were told... to fight you..."

"By who?" Wolf questioned.

"Never... saw... face..."

"You... are now existing... in the alternate.... reality... You... need... to find a way... back... soon........."

"The other figures... are waiting... More danger... lies ahead....... Do be careful... Wolf." The figure couldn't continue further. His injuries were very severe. After all, he was, just a soul of Wolf's.

"You... need to get... your souls back... regardless... of how painful... it could get... how dangerous... it is... how torturous... it could be..."

"Time for me... to return to my... owner..."

"Thanks... for... the... battle..."

With that, the figure Wolf was fighting slowly disintegrated into small light particles. It was too bright, for Wolf, who was badly beaten, at least. The last thing he could feel was that the particles were slowly entering him.

He couldn't sustain his consciousness any longer.

"More rest, huh...." and Wolf's eyes shut. He knew that things would turn out to be really interesting from here on out...

Flames of Darkness - Chapter I - VI

The battle began. Neither side actually made a move for a very long while, as if waiting for the opposite party to move first.

Wolf took the opportunity and made a quick pounce towards the figure, ready to do a slash on him. The figure just seemed to stand rooted there, as if waiting for the attack to come.

Wolf's claw came slashing right down on the figure, but... something was not right. As he landed on the ground, he turned around to see the figure.

The figure slowly faded away, as if it never existed. It turned and faced Wolf.

"Good try, but, you should try harder!" A quick laugh, and the figure disappeared into thin air. It was as if his attack never struck the figure at all, as if... it was "not there."

A sudden strike from his back stunned him. It was a powerful hit, and the impact sent him flying a distance away. Wolf didn't know where that came from, but he could sense that the figure he was speaking to was still around.

"Well, you already got a taste of my attack even before this. You should have been prepared this would happen!"

Wolf then understood what was going on. Manipulation of surroundings, no, more specifically, air. He couldn't understand though, how the figure managed to stab his body without leaving a trace.

"Just a small present from someone else." The figure responded, as if knowing what Wolf was thinking.

"You ain't going to find me just by standing there, you know? Come on, think of a way to hit me! I'm already bored..." The wind carried the figure's voice. Wolf was really angered by now, but he still couldn't score a hit on him.

"How about I propose a change of rules? I hit you even once, you tell me everything you know." Wolf spoke to the air, not knowing where the figure was by then.

"What? That's way too much of a bargain for you! But, hah! I guess that's fine with me. Not that you'll strike me at all anyway!" Ending off that sentence, a quick punch on Wolf's face could be felt.

There was not going to be any simple way of finding that figure. Not with it seemingly all over the place.

"Focus........" A small gust of wind went over his ears.

More strikes came landing on Wolf while he was still confused as to what to do. By now, the figure was mildly angered by his actions.

"I should up the ante, isn't it? You just standing there like a straw doll makes this no fun."

A sudden slice across Wolf's arm stunned him. It started to bleed, and this definitely was for real. The figure was not kidding this time, and Wolf needed to find a way out of this situation as quick as he could.

"Distracted again!"

A few more slices went slashing onto Wolf. It was not going to be the best ending to this battle. Not when Wolf was getting beaten around like a rag doll.

The strikes were getting more and more vicious as time went on. Wolf just couldn't keep up with escaping the attacks whenever he could. He could feel like the air became razor-sharp knives that were ready to slash him at anytime. He was ready to give up. Ready to just let the battle end with him losing. Ready to let it everything fade to nothing...

"So you want that, huh? FINE!"

Wolf suddenly got picked up into the air. He lost control of his whole body, unable to move a single muscle. The air was restraining his movements. Just then, he felt that the air became thinner... and thinner... and thinner...

He gasped for air, struggling to get out of the situation. There was nothing he could do, was there? Midway in air, not being able to move, doing nothing... He knew it was going to end in his brutal loss.

He was close to losing consciousness. A powerful slam on the ground followed, his body battered and bleeding.

"Take it as your final warning. The next strike, I will crush you bit by bit!"

Struggling to keep himself conscious now, he couldn't do much, other than grab the earth in front of him as a final struggle.

"It's all over..." Wolf made a soft murmur to himself.

"FOCUS! THINK!" A voice inside his head shouted. He didn't know who it was, but it definitely gave him a little more consciousness with such a loud voice.

"Alright. Time's up. Let's just send you to hell, shall we?" The figure picked him up once more, and again, he was floating in air. This time however, the air was getting heavier and heavier above him.

He could feel the air crushing his bones slowly... slowly... A loud crack could be heard.

"AAAAARRRRR-GGGGHHHHH!!!!" Wolf screamed in agony. His ribcage was slowly getting crushed under the air's weight. He had to do something, anything at all. His eyes began to close... ever so slowly...

"Good...bye..." Wolf whispered as the figure dropped him back to ground.

"So that's it? I expected more from you, Wolf." The figure reappeared from the surroundings, stepping his body and kicking it around.

What followed next, was dead silence...

Flames of Darkness - Chapter I - V

"My, oh my... Look who this is?" The figure spoke in a very familiar voice.

"Right. So what do you want, trying to be a copy of me? I appreciate having a fanbase but this isn't necessary." He responded, expecting that the figure knew something he didn't.

"Look, I'm not a COPY of you, alright? I'm just..."

"Just? Just? Hurry up and say it!"

"YOU."

He took a few steps back, not fully understanding what the figure just said.

"Huh, shocked are we? There's no need to be! You were, after all, dead, weren't you?"

He recalled the drowning...

"There was some... things, I'd say, that was done. But hey, you're alive! Isn't that the best thing already?"

"Shut up, now. I don't need more confusing things as it is now."

The figure, or more accurately, a carbon copy of himself, just stood there staring at him. He couldn't grasp it still, but he didn't want to let that figure just go away, not when he had so many questions in his mind.

"Still pondering over the many things? Let me help you." With a swift movement, the figure struck right into him, razor sharp claws piercing through anything in its path.

"Heh." The figure just gave a smirk, then retracted his claws.

The pain was obvious. It felt... too real. Was he going to just die off without a proper answer? He looked down, ready to see his life end before him.

Strangely enough, no injuries were on him. Not even a scratch. Neither was there a mark that he had been stabbed by that figure, ever before.

"Wolf, wolf, wolf... You should learn your lesson. Take that as a warning, and LISTEN to me if you want to find out more."

"SHUT UP! I don't need that name anymore. Stop calling me that!"

"Oh, being agitated now? It is, your name, or should I say, our name, after all!" The figure laughed.

It was strange that the figure even knew his name. Wolf just waited for the figure to say more.

"Well, how about this. Every strike that I fail to block, I'll tell you a portion of the information that I believe you'd like to know?" The figure broke the silence.

A duel sounded good, but Wolf was not at his prime form. He could feel something missing within him, he couldn't point out what. Still, he gave a nod to the figure, in all hopes that at least something could be gained from the battle.

"Good, good! It's nice to see you still ready to battle even when you are not in your best form! This isn't the best place to battle though, so how about..." With a punch to the ground by the figure, the earth rattled, as if a sudden earthquake just struck the area.

Cracks on the ground formed. Trees originally around the area started falling into the cracks. Wolf looked around, seeing that the area was becoming a flat piece of land in no time.

"Done! Now we're ready!"

It was going to be an intense battle, he could feel. Things were not going to be the same once this battle started...

Flames of Darkness - Chapter I - IV

"So much for rest..." He stood up, obviously still shaken by what had happened. It was a considerable long rest for him, much like hibernation, actually, but he knew that it wasn't the best time to be hibernating. Not when so many things happened. At the very least, he could feel that his stamina and strength returned by a decent lot, but something seemed to be missing from within him.

With the blazing sun shining right on him, he moved slowly toward a tree for some shade.

Looking around the area, he noticed that no one was there already. Not a single trace of them was left. Where should he start? Where did all those figures go? He couldn't decide instantaneously.

As if the wind brought a voice along, he heard "Follow where your heart desires...", and it faded away very quickly. It alerted his senses, but no one was around.

Who was the voice? Only time could tell...

"I don't have time on my hands to laze around now!" With a quick footing, he sprinted on his fours towards a direction. Somewhere that he felt he would find something, somewhere he felt his heart was guiding him to. He didn't know where he was headed towards, but he continued dashing his way through the thick bushes.

Greenery around the area helped to cool him down from all the dashing, but the fur on him was the ultimate shade. It was still cool, as if the surrounding wasn't blazing hot at all.

While he attempted to look up, the blinding sunlight stopped him from doing so. He couldn't see much of anything, and could only squint his eyes. That never helped much.

He walked slowly. Slowly towards an open area where he had never seen before. He was being pulled towards it, and it piqued his curiosity. Maneuvering past the overgrowth surrounding him, he saw a shadowy figure in the distance.

He made a quick sprint in an attempt to reach the figure. Closer, closer... He could feel that he was reaching the figure.

Yet, no matter how long he took, it seemed like the figure just wasn't getting any closer to him. One step was all it took after that, to give him an utter surprise.

As if time sped up by hours, the blazing sun disappeared into thin air, only to be replaced by the cold, windy night. He looked up and noticed the very sudden change, but couldn't understand what was happening. Unfortunately for him, he didn't notice that the figure was right in front of him in a split second, and he crashed onto the figure.

The figure stepped back a little bit, but it seemed like the crash didn't cause any significant impact on him. As he recovered from the crash, he looked up at the figure, and knew in an instant, the confrontation with the figure was not going to be a smooth one...
